Vampire Summer, 6.5 inches by 12 inches, pastel on paper

It’s been that kind of summer - it got so hot so fast that I never did get everything I wanted for the garden. The fountain sat quiet. The motor needed replacement  but  even in the early mornings sitting outside wasn’t pleasant so that didn’t actually get done until last week. The moss-grown fountain became sort of a symbol for the mood of summer of 2024. On the bright side, the hydrangeas had a stellar season this year. Onward into August…
