Mom’s House, a Wiscasset painting
July 15, 2024Mom’s House, 8 inches by 8 inches, pastel on paper
I love the intimacy of smaller paintings, and this one offers just a glimpse through the trees of a Federal style building in historic Wiscasset, Maine on a hot summer afternoon. Less a portrait of a house than a suggestion of it, the quick impression reminds me of how the mind’s eye stores memories. I hear this place is haunted.
