Loveladies Leap, 9 inches by 12 inches, pastel on paper

It’s fascinating to see how bodies of work unfold. I gravitate toward a lot of different favorite subjects, yet it was a surprise when a friend pointed out the recurring motif of the path in my work, which I hadn’t even noticed. I think it’s subconsciously about anticipation and the mystery of what lies ahead. 

This painting is of the path to the beach at Loveladies on Long Beach Island in New Jersey where I’ve spent many a lovely September vacation, and it is available for purchase.
