Foxes!

Often foxes or other motifs come to mind and find their way into my paintings whether I’ve intended them to or not. Sometimes, there has been an image I’ve been wanting to tackle for awhile but it’s more of a snippet or vignette that either doesn’t seem strong enough on its own, like the frost-whorled winds in Window Dressing or doesn’t have a strong enough focal point, like the cemetery in Evergreen. Other times the fox is the point - A Fox in Winter, or The Messenger. Fox Islands was an experiment in water media and I did that purely out of delight when I found that a favorite Maine destination, Popham Beach is in a wider region called The Fox Islands. I’d never seen a fox there so I decided to change that.

Some of these paintings are available so get in touch if you are interested in adding one to your collection - or if you have any other questions.
